Integration overview

bankid

The integration makes it possible to activate BankID for selected forms in two ways:

  • Sign with BankID before the form is submitted — the end user signs the form with BankID as part of the submission flow.
  • Unlock form with BankID — the end user must authenticate with BankID before they can even see the form.

Unlock form with BankID

When this option is enabled, the end user is prompted to authenticate with BankID before the form is displayed. They cannot access or fill in the form without completing the BankID step first.

This is useful when the form contains sensitive information that should only be accessible to identified individuals, or when you need to know who is viewing the form before they submit anything.

BankID only

The unlock feature is only available with BankID. It is not supported by Lime Signatures.

Sign with BankID before submit

When this option is enabled, the end user completes the form as normal and then signs it with BankID before the submission is processed. The BankID signing step appears at the end of the form, after the end user has reviewed their answers.

This is useful when the submission has legal significance, requires a verifiable identity, or when the signing itself is part of the process — for example, an agreement, a declaration, or an application.

A signing text is shown to the end user in the BankID app during the signing step. This text can be customised. See Create dynamic texts for BankID signings for details.
