Releases and Updates
Release schedule
We aim to release updates to Lime Forms roughly every two weeks, but our schedule is not fixed.
When bugs are discovered we ship fixes as soon as they are ready, which can mean several releases in a single week. When we are working on larger features that require more time, there may be periods of up to four weeks between releases.
All releases are listed in the Changelog.
Upgrade process
Upgrades are managed by Lime and applied automatically — you do not need to initiate or coordinate them yourself.
Testing environment first
Every upgrade is applied to your testing environment before your production environment. This gives you an opportunity to verify that everything works as expected before the change reaches your live installation.
Update priority
How quickly an upgrade reaches your production environment depends on your update priority:
| Priority | Testing environment | Production environment |
|---|---|---|
| Early adopter | Immediately | Immediately |
| Standard | Immediately | 7 days after testing |
| Extended validation | 7 days after release | 14 days after release |
Contact us if you would like to change your update priority or request an earlier upgrade.
What happens during an upgrade
When an upgrade is applied, your installation goes through the following steps automatically:
- The application is put into maintenance mode — end users see a maintenance page during this time to ensure data consistency.
- Configuration is automatically updated to match the new version.
- The new application code is deployed.
- The application is brought back online.
Usually it takes less than a minute. In the worst case scenario, it could take up to 5 minutes.
If something goes wrong
If an upgrade fails, our team is notified immediately by several independent monitoring tools. We will quickly resolve the issue and retry, or immediately roll back to restore your service. You do not need to take any action — contact us at support@lime.tech if you have concerns.
